Saturday at 9am they defeated the Crushers, Controlled Chaos, Saint Nicholas
Circle Jerk, Not in a Blue Moon, Balls in Hand, Wolfpack and the Hound Dogs
to face off against Bob Campbell, Jake Mueller & Jimmy Disken of Misery
II for the State Championship!In
the match Show Me the Money was up 30-16 after 3 games.Jake Mueller defeated George Galbarski 10-6 for Misery II’s first
win.Juan & Eric went on a
20-7 run to put them up 56-33 after 6 games.In game 8 Juan scored 5 vs. Jimmy to clinch the win for the
undefeated Show Me the Money!
Second
place goes to Misery II.Losing
their first match vs. the Wolfpack they went on to win matches vs. the Big
Break and Long Shanks before meeting up with Doc’s Gang.In a match that went down to the wire Jake Mueller defeated Doug
Molhook of Doc’s Gang 10-7 in a must win game 9 to clinch the match for
Misery II.Doc’s Gang finished tied for 5th with the
Wolfpack.Misery II went on to
defeat 4th place No Name of Flagstaff in another 9-game nailbiter
with Bob Campbell facing off against Gary Wimmer.A failed safety proved costly as Bob went on to bank his final ball
leaving himself great shape on the 8 for the win and the match.They went on to defeat 3rd place finishers the
Hound Dogs in their 3rd consecutive whoever wins game 9 wins it
match with Bob Campbell defeating Wayne Shropshire 10-6 to clinch it and
advance to the Championships!
The
fun kicked off on Friday with 12 people playing in the 8-Ball Break &
Run Derby and another 32 players in the singles tournament.Cecil Attson hit an 8-ball break in the final round to become 8-Ball
Break & Run Derby Champion!At
8pm we had 20 teams signed up for the Wild Card.Of the 8 teams that advanced out of the Wild Card Big Break – Todd
Doty, Mark Chairez & AJ Wolf – and That’s What She Said – Jr.
Jiron, Teresa Sedillo & Calvin Borden - went on to each win 4 matches.The Long Shanks also won 4 matches.The 2-Niners won their first three matches on the winner’s side but
then lost 2 straight to be eliminated.
